Not sure anyone is still reading.

I am debating on what I should do with this blog...keep it, make it private, or just get rid of it all together. I do LOVE an outlet for infertility- and I LOVE my friends I have made along the way. If you guys are still reading this please let me know!!! That sounds super annoying I know! Just not sure what to keep on- or if I should simplify things. Simple sounds better...but not everyone likes to hear about my fertility dealings and cycle problems I'm sure.

Well for those reading- I am feeling SO much better today. Been running all week and eating better. I am already feeling my energy come back. Plus watching some of you discuss baby number 2 gets me excited!! :) Still thinking 6 months- but again- I am excited to feel "that" again! This a face makes me excited for what the next one will look like :) Okay quick mamma question too- when do you ladies start potty training. I am figuring this is a ways away for me but I read something crazy online of people starting when they are SUPER young! What the? I can't imagine Deklan understanding something so complex!

  1. I still read! I love your updates, but I understand the need to simplify too.

As far as potty training... I had read that 18 months was when people start. My son is 14 months and I just can't imagine him being ready so soon. A friend on facebook asked the same question a few weeks ago (and I stalked her comments because I was curious). Most people that commented to her said their little ones were 2 or older (most were closer to 2.5) before they were potty trained. I've heard that the whole process is quicker and less frustrating if they are a little older. Plus, they need to show signs of readiness. So I guess everyone is different :) I know people I've read about online have said you can do it earlier, but I just don't know anyone in real life that has done it then... Oh yeah! And I've heard that boys do it later... Not sure if that is true or more of an old wives thing...

  3. I'm still reading!!! I love your updates, too--whether fertility- or Deklan-related :)

I'm not sure when we're going to potty train, though I've also heard after 2, but before 3. When I taught in Taiwan, all the kids were potty-trained before 3, so that's been my benchmark. I'm with you though. I can't imagine F&C starting really young!

  9. I'm still checking in too! I like to start "introducing" potty training (i bought a teeny toilet seat to go in a big toilet, we also have a separate little potty) at 18 months. Then I just start talking about it, demonstrating, and letting them sit on them and getting all excited about it. If they ever accidentally "go" while there, they get a treat (Ella loves her chocolate chips). I like taking a slow approach so I can gage how much they like it (definitely don't want to turn them off to it, scare them, or pressure them) and also to start planting in their heads that it results in treats. Some boys do better waiting all the way until they are 3, but I know other boys who are fully potty trained at 2. You'll be able to tell what Deklan wants. But I like starting early, before they are 2, because they like to establish their independence (strongly) at about 2, and they are less likely to want to "please" you. Just my opinion. :)

  10. I'm extremely impressed together with your writing abilities and also with the structure in your weblog. Is that this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself? Anyway stay up the nice quality writing, it's uncommon to see a nice blog like this one these days.
